Amy Winehouse is an up and coming singer that's being criticized for her drug and alcohol addiction. Recently a video was recorded of Winehouse allegedly smoking crack.
The video and Winehouse's past reputation have put off fans and the grammy voters. Although elections for the Grammy's ended Jan.9, people are still are concerned that her image will have an effect on the outcome.
People who have supported Winehouse in her career fear that all this negative attention will cause her to loose her credibility as a soul singer. Most of these people want her to get help but Winehouse doesn't think she has a problem, according to her father.
Rehab may not be for her but smoking crack is definitly not going to attract fans. It's unfortunate for Winehouse who actually has talent and could perform for years to come.
Winehouse is nominated for four Grammy's and has a good chance of winning. Some think that all the tabloid attention will effect the results in a bad way. The new video has put people in a frenzy and has some grammy voters thinking twice.
I can only hope that she gets help and lays off the drugs and alcohol. Sadly her life is portrayed in the tabloibs and everyone can see her downfall.
I am interested to see how the Grammy's go and if she will even show up. She is talented and could have a fulfilling career if she doesn't mess it up.

It seems as though Winehouse's indecorousness has played out in her life, and not just in her music. Her life seems, to me, oxymoronic. She has become a beautiful tragedy. Her music would probably not be as soulful if she didn't feel the message she sings. Her infelicitous behavior is a foundation for her success and the reason of her potential demise.
Maybe she is just drawing inspiration for another hit album.
Even though she isn't at her brighest moment, they are awarding her music talent, not her lifestyle; however, I think her lugubrious state has already tainted the minds of the grammy voters.
I feel sorry for this singer. It seems life hasn't been in her favor but it also seems that is partly her own fault. Whatever the case if she deserves an award for what she has accomplished in her music she should get it regardless of how she lives her life.
Many singers are plauged by addiction and its a shame to see people with so much talent go to waste. This happens to a number of artist like Elvis(amphetamines), Rick James(crack cocaine), and Kurt Cobain(heroin). In Winehouse's case she needs help, you can't justify drug use for artistic talents. Drug addiction is something not to mess with. The Grammy voters should ave the right to deny the award to Winehouse because she is going to represent the association. And if they don't take her drug use on, I think it would be horrible lapse in judgement.
I believe that Winehouse is very talented, but her addictions are a problem. Young people who listen to her music and view her videos can be exposed to her negative side.
Yes, she is talented, but she should be more careful with what she does with her personal life, because there is always someone watching her (paparazzi). She is a role model for future singers and if she portrays this kind of side of her personal life, people will probably think that it is okay to do drugs.
I hope she does get help. As it sounds, she really needs it.
I think it is sad to hear that she is smoking crack and im sure she will loose a lot of fans. Who wants to buy her cd knowing what she does with her money? Not me. I hope she will overcome this and get back to singing and whatever else she does. She will probably not win the grammy, but we will see.
Personally, I like Amy Winehouse, and I don't think her music her be judged by her actions and what she does in her personal life. Many great musicians had drug problems, but their music is still highly respected and loved by many. I also don't think that her drug addictions should affect her chances of winning a Grammy. Grammy's are given to people for their music, NOT their lives.
